¿HOW IT WORKS?

Your details in 3 steps:

  • Save the groups and components of your model as individual .skp files. Our free Outliner+ extension does it in batch.

  • One LayOut page with the views you want repeated for every detail: axonometric, plan, front and side elevations, at your scales, with your title block.

  • Point it at the folder and the template, and choose where to save. You get the complete document, one sheet per detail.

¿What it keeps?

✓ Camera, framing, scale and render mode of every viewport, exactly as you designed them. Your models and your template are left untouched.

✓ Each page takes the name of its .skp file, so a <PageName> auto-text fills in the title of every detail in the title block.

*It expires on 31 December 2026. After that date it stops producing documents and shows a notice explaining that the beta has ended. The check is local, against your own computer's clock: it makes no network requests and collects no data.ato.

Frequently asked questions

  • SketchUp Pro 2026 or newer, on macOS. Windows is being tested and will follow in a later update; this release is published for Mac only.

    You also need a LayOut template: a .layout file whose first page holds the viewports you want repeated for each detail. And your details need to be modelled about the origin (0,0,0), which is what makes each one land inside the framing you set up.

    This is an open beta and every report counts. If you can, tell me which version of SketchUp you use and what you were doing when it happened. I will use that same address to let you know when the final version is out.

  • Easy LayOut stops producing new documents and shows a notice explaining that the evaluation period has ended. It does not fail and it does not block SketchUp: it simply stops creating sheets.

    The documents you have already created are not affected in any way. They are ordinary LayOut files: they open, edit and export without Easy LayOut installed. The extension leaves nothing inside them.

    The final version will be published on the Extension Warehouse.

  • No. Easy LayOut only reads the files you point it at, and writes a new document in the location you choose.

    Your detail .skp files and your .layout template are left exactly as they were. It does not touch the SketchUp model you have open either.

  • No. Any folder of .skp files works, however you produced them.

    Outliner+ is our free extension and it saves you the previous step: it batch-saves the groups and components of your model as individual files and applies a consistent naming convention. It is a shortcut, not a requirement.

  • Dozens. The example in these images is 31 sheets generated in a single run, and it has been tested with catalogues of more than forty details. The document is written in batches and straight to disk, so large catalogues do not exhaust memory.
